Also new at OSHA

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Recovery Act) was introduced in February this year to promote the stimulation of the US economy in the current fiscal year. OSHA states that its role within the economic recovery process is ‘to ensure that worker protection laws are enforced as recovery infrastructure investments are carried out’. There are a number of ways in which OSHA supports employers and workers during this process including provision of free consultation services to employers within small businesses. OSHA also provides outreach programs for employers and workers regarding hazard awareness and worker protection in affected industries.
