5 Questions with Russ Holley, Manager of XM Services

1. Tell us a little bit about your role at Examinetics and how your role contributes to the overall mission of Examinetics.
Our cloud-based XM Solutions system provides a platform that transforms data into valuable analytics and reports. As Manager of XM Services, my role is to ensure that our clients have access to the information needed to manage their Health & Safety programs. Our mission on the data team is not only to collect data but also to have it readily available when needed. We help deliver on Examinetics’ commitment to providing access to a growing toolbox of solutions and technology.

2. How does your role contribute to the health and safety of America’s workforce?
The tools and resources we provide allow our clients to make the decisions needed to ensure a safe and productive workforce. We enable the insights that come with consolidation and access to a broad set of compliance-related tests and results. XM Solutions gives EHS professionals the power to manage and view their data down to department or facility level.

3. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
For me, the most rewarding part of my job is providing a turnkey process to something that was previously time consuming and cumbersome. The online clearance service we provide is a great example. Instead of shipping and tracking paper questionnaires, we allow employees to complete the questionnaire online. This ensures confidentiality and provides immediate reporting.

4. What do you think is the future of workforce health?
Current technology is providing more health-related data than ever before. Turning disparate points of data into valuable insights is the hallmark of high-quality data analysis, and the challenge will be to interpret that information and make it available in a single secure repository. The future will be to streamline data management in a way to easily see trends, identify risks and support health & safety program success.

5. Considering your role and different experiences in your work, please share a personal safety and/or health tip that may be relevant for clients.
My safety tip is pretty simple – wear hearing protection whenever you are exposed to noise. One of the things I enjoy is hunting where grew up in rural Missouri. By wearing hearing protection when I am at home using the lawnmower, chainsaw, or leaf blower, it helps me to conserve my hearing so I can listen for the wild turkeys and deer even as I get older.
