June 7, 2019: Examinetics announces strategic alliance with Moldex-Metric, Inc. to offer nationwide online respirator clearance evaluations

Examinetics, the nation’s leading provider of Workforce Health Solutions, helping businesses of all industries protect and empower their employees with health and compliance solutions, announces a new strategic alliance with Moldex-Metric, a world-class innovative respiratory and hearing protection manufacturer, for online respirator clearance evaluations.

Moldex will now offer a nationwide, medically backed respirator clearance program to their customers of reusable and disposable respirators. Workers must be medically evaluated and cleared to wear a respirator in order to be compliant with OSHA regulations. Examinetics offers online respirator medical clearance evaluations to keep workforces healthy, safe and compliant with mandatory workplace laws.

The online respirator clearance from Examinetics perfectly complements Moldex’s desire to keep employees safe when wearing respirators in the workplace. The medical evaluation is to be completed prior to fit testing with the Moldex line of personal protective equipment. After employees participate in the online clearance process, results are available immediately and stored on a cloud-based data management system.

“We are thrilled to partner with Examinetics to offer even greater convenience and support services to our customers.” Bill Schubach, VP of Sales, Moldex. “Their vast experience and long term commitment to safety and health made them the perfect fit for this partnership. Our customers now have a turnkey solution for ensuring their written respiratory protection programs are in compliance with OSHA regulations and more importantly, sufficient to keep workers’ respiratory health protected while on the job.”

Through simple online access, Examinetics' respirator clearance process is convenient for a large or widely dispersed workforce. The evaluation takes approximately fifteen to twenty minutes to complete with immediate results. Upon completion, the employee and their employer have access to evaluation results on XM Solutions, a secure cloud-based database. If additional follow up is needed, Examinetics' medical staff are available for consultation.

“We are excited to collaborate with Moldex in the area of respiratory protection,” said Examinetics Chief Growth Officer Sean West. “We continue to work toward our mission of helping companies stay productive through comprehensive programs and analytics that promote the health, safety, compliance, and wellbeing of their entire workforce population.”

In 2018, OSHA ranked respiratory protection as the fourth most frequently cited standards violation on job sites. In total, OSHA found 3,112 respiratory violations across the country. This serves as a reminder of the importance of respiratory protection. As nearly five million Americans work in harmful airborne material every day, the protection of their lungs is of the utmost importance.

Respiratory protection involves the use of a protective face piece, which covers parts of the face (nose and mouth) or the entire head of an individual and protects against airborne agents. Respiratory protection is vital in any work environment with insufficient oxygen or harmful dust, fogs, mists, smoke, sprays or vapors.

Overland Park-based Examinetics Inc. continued its buying streak with a second acquisition since December. The occupational health screening company acquired Enviromed Corp., which provides mobile hearing testing throughout the Eastern United States. Examinetics did not disclose the value of the deal. Employers with workers that are exposed to noise levels above 85 decibels are required to monitor their hearing over time. The mobile test uses an audiometer and pair of headphones to measure subjects' ability to differentiate different sounds, pitches and frequencies in each ear. Less than three months ago, Examinetics acquired another company, Occupational Testing Group, allowing the company to provide more types of screenings in a broader market. "With the addition of OTG and Enviromed to our national platform, we are now delivering services to more than 15,000 locations annually," Examinetics CEO Troy Heppner said in a release. "We are extremely excited to add these customers into our portfolio and look forward to providing comprehensive solutions to address their risk management and compliance needs." Enviromed is based in the Philadelphia suburb of Lindenwold, N.J.
Examinetics, an Overland Park occupational health company, will expand its footprint with the acquisition of North Carolina-based Occupational Testing Group. The deal, which closed in December, will allow Examinetics to reach additional U.S. markets for mobile occupational health screenings. It also will allow the company to provide more services, such as medical examinations for worker exposure to cotton dust, which is often present in facilities where cotton is handled and processed. “The acquisition of OTG complements our overall occupational health screening and data management service offerings," Examinetics CEO Troy Heppner said in a statement. "With this acquisition, Examinetics has further enhanced our screening capabilities and provided additional mobile capacity to meet the growing demands of our customers.” Examinetics provides mobile occupational health screenings, data services and wellness programs to help companies meet occupational health regulations. The company provided 850,000 screenings in 2017.
